Ohio Assisted Living Costs

Assisted living in Ohio is regulated by the Ohio Department of Health, which requires that facilities provide personal care services for their seniors. The exact services included depend on the assisted living community you choose, and that probably accounts for some of the price variation as well.

Assisted living and independent living communities are great for seniors over 55 who are healthy enough to live by themselves without mobility assistance or medical care, and they give you a great opportunity to meet other seniors around you.

Independent living facilities average $2,579 in Ohio, and range from $1,425 to $3,774*. While independent living facilities don’t provide the round the clock care that you’ll find in a nursing home or assisted living facility, they do offer community amenities like pools, workout facilities, and often “meet the neighbors” mixers. *From the SeniorHomes.com 2012 Independent Living Cost Survey.
